SSH Telnet
Learn about the Telnet protocol and its use.
Secure Shell, better known as SSH, is a cryptographic network protocol employed to execute commands on a remote hosting server or to exchange information between a server and a client. Since the info exchanged by the 2 sides is protected, a 3rd party cannot intercept it, which makes SSH a favorite means of handling an Internet hosting account. The commands that could be executed are determined by the type of hosting service. On a shared hosting server, for instance, the choices are limited as you'll not have root access to the website hosting server, so you may only create/move/delete files, create and unpack archives, export and import databases, and so forth. They're all actions that are executed in the shared hosting account and do not need a higher level of access. Through a virtual or a dedicated server, you shall be able to set up server-side software or to restart the web server or only a certain service (web server, database server, etc.). SSH commands are submitted via a command line, but if you don't employ a UNIX-like Operating System, there are a variety of apps for other OSs, that you can employ to connect to the remote web server as well.

SSH Telnet in Web Hosting
If the
web hosting package deal that you’ve chosen through the signup procedure comes with SSH access by default, you will be able to activate this feature with a mouse click inside your Hepsia Control Panel. In case you have picked a different package, the SSH access feature could be added via the Upgrades menu and it will become available straightaway. All the info you need to connect will be conveniently listed within the SSH section of the CP - the hostname, the username and the port number. You can also set what password to use from the same place and you shall be able to modify it anytime. All of the commands which are allowed are listed within the Help articles which we've prepared for you, together with examples of the syntax which you need to use. An additional advantage of permitting SSH access to your account is that you will be able to upload files using an SFTP connection.

SSH Telnet in VPS Servers
You shall be able to use SSH to handle your content irrespective of which
VPS servers you pick when you sign up, due to the fact that all our packages provide this feature by default. You'll not have to include or enable anything manually - the instant your hosting server is prepared and you receive the Welcome e mail with the login details, you can connect and begin working on your websites or any software that you want to set up and run on the machine. You shall have root-level access to the VPS and since the account will be isolated from the other accounts in the physical server, you'll be able to do anything you'd like without any restrictions. You'll be able to set up any app you require and that shall run on a Linux-based hosting server, reboot any software server (web, database, game, media, etc.) and work with your files and databases easily and quickly.
